Behaviour Support Practioner

Due to recent organisational growth, Kirinari Community Services is seeking a passionate and suitably qualified Behaviour Support Practioner to commence in the Tamworth region.Kirinari is a dynamic, expanding provider that delivers high quality services in NSW and Victoria. We employ over 1000 staff and provide a fun and proactive team environment with significant job satisfaction.About the PositionThe Kirinari Clinical Team receives referrals from across the sector from a range of individuals living in different circumstances with different goals. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) you will be responsible for providing specialist behaviour support services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and their support teams.   As a BSP within Kirinari, you will be responsible for the promotion of positive behaviour support within the organisation and the enhancement of the quality of life of its customers.ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance and a commitment to the policies and procedures and delegations of Kirinari, together with the relevant national and state legislation and policy, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards CommissionHave a thorough understanding of, and promote the reduction of Restrictive Practices across Kirinari and its customersDevelop positive relationships and work with relevant stakeholders that include individuals, families, specialist support services and relevant government organisations in the delivery of positive behaviour supportDevelop, implement and review positive Behaviour Support Plans that address behaviours of concern and enhance the quality of life for participantsUtilise a range of data tools, to complete behavioural analysis and functional assessmentsContinued participation in opportunities for professional development to ensure high quality service delivery and consistency with current trendsBalance priorities and maintain an active clinical caseload in consultation with the Clinical Services ManagerAccurate record keeping and reportingRequirementsHold a relevant degree and/or demonstrated experience in support of individuals with disability and complex needs and behaviours of concern.Assessed against the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, or are committed to working towards the registration requirements outlined by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards CommissionA thorough understanding of relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practice’s at national and state level, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards CommissionHave experience of, or a thorough understanding of the concepts and principles of Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessment, development of positive behaviour support plans, and their implementation and reviewHigh quality written and verbal skills, including excellent computer skills, interpersonal skills, and time management ability.Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of the Behaviour Support teamHold a current driver’s license and a willingness to travel interstateAbility to obtain a NDIS Workers Check before commencement Ability to obtain a NSW Working With Children Check before commencementWhat's on offer?Competitive salary on offer dependent with skills, qualifications and previous experienceA fun and supportive working environmentSalary packaging available (additional $15,900 tax free pa)Annual Leave up to 5 weeksLearning and development opportunitiesRewarding career pathways with opportunities for further growthCome join us!To join our vibrant teams please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your previous experience, suitability for the position and any relevant qualifications.Applications close by 5pm, Friday 7th May 2021. Due to the high volume of applications, the recruitment process may commence before the closing date.For enquiries please contact Jason Dehlyia, Clinical  Services Manager on 0438 361 784.You must have the right to live and work in Australia.
