Kirinari Community Services have positions available in the Narrabri region for Entry level or Experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team for the upcoming holiday season. The Christmas period is a busy time for all and as our customers and services grow, we are looking for applicants to commence immediately.Christmas is always a fun and special time of year for our customers. We employ over 1000 staff and provide a fun and proactive team environment with significant job satisfaction.About the PositionWe are looking for supportive, reliable and highly motivated Disability Support Workers to assist our customers to increase and maintain independence.Our DSW's are responsible for the day to day support of our customers, this ranges from support within our shared accommodation, domestic and personal assistance services as well as accessing the community. This position is working in our supported independent living accommodation (SIL/Group Homes). RequirementsLived in or paid experience across a range of support services including challenging behaviours (not essential)Passion for supporting others to reach individual goals through a high-level person-centered approachAbility and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers, weekends and public and/or school holidays with significant availabilityResilience, self-confidence and willingness to engage clients with various backgrounds and needsStrong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with clients to actively support individual needsAbility to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencementNSW Working With Children Check before commencementCurrent Driver's LicenseBasic IT skillsSmart PhoneA mandatory requirement of this position is that all staff working in this position must have received their first Covid vaccination by 25th October 2021 and second by 29th November 2021 or hold a medical contraindication certificate from a medical practitioner as per the NSW public health order.To be eligible to apply, you must provide evidence of your COVID vaccination status.
